There are three different engine options for the 2019 1500. First is the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine with eTorque, which comes standard on most trim levels. This will be the most fuel-efficient option (20 city/25 hwy mpg). With 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque helping grind out a towing capacity of 7,730 lbs, this is a good choice for the everyday driver.

transparent 2019 RAM 1500A big step up from the base engine is the next one in the lineup: the 5.7L HEMI® V8. It’s still efficient with 15 city/22 hwy mpg in the 4×2 model and 15 city/21 hwy mpg in the 4×4 model, but this one gets a big boost in towing – 11,610 lbs. This engine option grinds out 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft.

Last but certainly not least is the toughest engine of the bunch. The award-winning 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine with eTorque Mild Hybrid System is a tough competitor. It gets better fuel efficiency than the same engine without eTorque (17 city/23 hwy mpg in the 4×2 and 17 city/22 hwy mpg in the 4×4) as well as the same 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, but this engine caps off its Best-in-Class V8 towing at 12,750 lbs.
