Towing capacity and engine options in the 2019 RAM 1500
If you’re looking for a fully-capable pickup with a great towing capacity and exceptional innovative features, the 2019 RAM 1500 is likely a good choice for you. RAM is making a case to be the top truck brand in America, and they’re off to a good start with the RAM 1500. With available Best-in-Class available V8 4×4 combined fuel economy and Best-in-Class V8 engine towing, this truck was built for ultimate strength, durability, and capability. Take a look at the towing capacity and engine options in the 2019 RAM 1500 below!
There are three different engine options for the 2019 1500. First is the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine with eTorque, which comes standard on most trim levels. This will be the most fuel-efficient option (20 city/25 hwy mpg). With 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque helping grind out a towing capacity of 7,730 lbs, this is a good choice for the everyday driver.
A big step up from the base engine is the next one in the lineup: the 5.7L HEMI® V8. It’s still efficient with 15 city/22 hwy mpg in the 4×2 model and 15 city/21 hwy mpg in the 4×4 model, but this one gets a big boost in towing – 11,610 lbs. This engine option grinds out 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft.
Last but certainly not least is the toughest engine of the bunch. The award-winning 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine with eTorque Mild Hybrid System is a tough competitor. It gets better fuel efficiency than the same engine without eTorque (17 city/23 hwy mpg in the 4×2 and 17 city/22 hwy mpg in the 4×4) as well as the same 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, but this engine caps off its Best-in-Class V8 towing at 12,750 lbs.
The name of the game is versatility, and you’ll have plenty of that thanks to the three available engine options in the 2019 RAM 1500. Learn more by contacting our team here at Posner!
